Inappropriate love

Appropriate love-

I can’t get real about it;

not even when I see it

as clean as a morning,

and as real as the second when

a new wound starts bleeding.

A thing that should;

polite, present, accepted,

willing, ordered and expected,

for planted reasons.

Makes me cold.

I will sit for a love that could,

that flickers possible, impossible, possible!,

that holds nothing but chance,

against a vast nothing but friction;

alight unembarrassed

in a moment tossed into air,

opting for madness, sadness,

earsplitting badness-

all made sense

in the glad, hurried,

inappropriate nonsense of love.
